2017 Farmhouse Cuvée
Dundee Hills, Pinot Noir
The Farmhouse name is a tribute to the home our winemaker grew up in with his father, the founder of Holstein Vineyard. There are three wines in the Farmhouse series, each meant to be an everyday, standby wine. This year’s Farmhouse Cuvée pinot noir is considered a neighborhood blend, comprised of three vineyards in the Dundee Hills: Holstein Vineyard, Murto Vineyard, and Anonimo Vineyard. After the use of 5% whole cluster during fermentation, this wine is aged in 15% second use French oak and 85% neutral French oak for 16 months–unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting notes: The Farmhouse is a perfect example of Dundee Hills character. Brimming with succulent red and black fruit, herbaceous with slight cola nuances on a silky frame and deepening through the finish. Effortless drinkability–drink now or later, you won’t be upset either way.
